on the bandwagon

Sometimes it’s ok to jump on board with a trend…

when it’s REALLY gorgeous…

Panotone’s color of the year is pretty fantastic.

Enter, emerald green…

Kiss me, it’s St Patrick’s day!

into emerald city

When talented photographer, Caroline Allison, sent an announcement for her latest opening, I was awed by this gorgeous image.

Everything about this photo beckons me to daydream.  And since I’ve been completely drawn to rich jewel tones lately, my eyes went straight to the deep green hues.

Jewel tones are  getting hot…in clothing, florals, textiles, and basically all things beautiful.

But something about the deep green gleam of emerald draws me in.

shades of gray

A sweet friend of mine asked me recently to name a few of my favorite gray paint colors.  As I’m sure you all know, gray is HOT right now and has been popping up all over the design world for some time!

Almost every room needs a little weight to anchor the space and create contrast.

The “it” color changes every few years.  The color du jour was black a decade or so ago, (and black will always be “in!”)

then it was chocolate brown…

It’s everywhere!

And it seems to bring out the best in almost any color it’s placed next to.

I asked the girls at the office their “go to” gray paint color, and here they are!

Kendall: Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal

and Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter

Scarlett: Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray

Kelly: Benjamin Moore Texas Leather

and my favorite (this week, at least) is Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray

Be inspired!

And maybe this is one of those rare times that it’s ok to follow the trend;)

feeling inspired!

All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.

-Pablo Picasso

After several busy years of working lots and painting very little, I am dyyyyying to start again!

Although, I feel a little bit ridiculous because the things I’ve created have all gotten painted over by me!  Not even one has been worthy of keeping…

So, as I looked for art for a client, I decided to save images that I loved, images that are inspiring and beautiful.

What do you think? What inspires you?
