I’m so happy to share that this Thursday is the first day of Spring!

h a l l e l u j a h!

I found this GORGEOUS photo of a Miami home outfitted in all my favorite color, white! (with natural elements of perfect greens and blues that make it even better!)

This weekend in a failed attempt to get organized…as usual I got distracted by beautiful pages I’d torn from design magazines and hoarded over the years.  This one was wrinkled, so I’ve probably had it for a very long while.

Of course, it makes since that it stayed around, because it’s the perfect exterior inspiration for my (someday) dream house.

But for me almost everything, even the fabulous exteriors, inspire my interiors.  Things I see and love often become part of a beautiful room I get to create.

I’m looking so forward to the longer, warmer days of spring, and so I wanted to share an inspiration board with you.  Hopefully, it will give you some ideas of how to spruce things up around your house for Spring!

into emerald city

When talented photographer, Caroline Allison, sent an announcement for her latest opening, I was awed by this gorgeous image.

Everything about this photo beckons me to daydream.  And since I’ve been completely drawn to rich jewel tones lately, my eyes went straight to the deep green hues.

Jewel tones are  getting hot…in clothing, florals, textiles, and basically all things beautiful.

But something about the deep green gleam of emerald draws me in.

read any good books lately?

As the world gets more and more comfortable reading on kindles, nooks, and iPads, I still haven’t made the switch (and probably never will) because I just love holding real books!

I love seeing the words and photos on real paper.

I enjoy lingering over the pages of a book (or two) in my lap!

So I thought I’d share a dozen of my favorite, inspiring design books with you!

feeling inspired!

All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.

-Pablo Picasso

After several busy years of working lots and painting very little, I am dyyyyying to start again!

Although, I feel a little bit ridiculous because the things I’ve created have all gotten painted over by me!  Not even one has been worthy of keeping…

So, as I looked for art for a client, I decided to save images that I loved, images that are inspiring and beautiful.

What do you think? What inspires you?

beth webb

design crush: Beth Webb

A post from Scarlett on Facebook reminded me just how much I adore the work of Atlanta designer Beth Webb.

I actually emailed her a couple months ago to compliment her gorgeous work and to ask about photographers she’s enjoyed working with.   She emailed back within minutes, so of course, I was so impressed that I even told her I couldn’t believe she still answered her own emails?!  She was so kind and as a result I became an even bigger fan!

Check out a dozen of her beautiful rooms…

I mean they are AMAZING!

What do you think?  Beautiful, right?!
