My dear friend Steve and I have known each other for a little more than 4 years.  Actually, I’ve known him a few weeks longer than I’ve been married, but I feel like we’ve known each other forever.

He works at the trade showroom where I buy practically everything for clients (as well as my own house.)  Needless to say I spend a lot of time there looking through catalogs, selecting fabrics, and gabbing on and on about all things design, life, marriage, career, blah, blah, blah…

The whole crew also includes Donna, the owner, and Sterling who’s in sales.  These guys have been big supporters of me during these first few crazy years of business!  And I am thankful.

So, when Steve called me last week and left me a voicemail with this tease, “I’ve made up a new word, and it’s really good.  Call me back!”

Of course, I immediately dialed him, and when he answered I blurted, “So what’s your new word?” No greeting just the question.

He explained he’d been on a blind date the night before.  He drank wine and talked for a couple hours getting the “all about me’s” out of the way.  Then, in the midst of the conversation while attempting to explain what he does for designers during the day at the showroom, he said something about “necessary accessories.”  Then immediately he said, “Oh, I guess those would be called “naccessories.”

I really like words and of course this one inherently implies there is such a thing as a necessary accessory, or a naccessory, if you will.

  1. well, as i scrolled through there was a lot of oh-my-goodness-yes-i-do-need more of that! so, I’m going to head to the farmer’s market and get fresh flowers. they make the house come alive. and I need all the help I can get ’round here… And i’d have to say my favorite is original artwork..timeless investment.
